Jansson, Amsterdam, 1675.
These images were taken from a well known Dutch emblem book of Jacob Cats which had gone through many editions before van Vreeswyk found these in the edition of 1659 printed in Dordrecht. The printer of the van Vreeswyk books, must have obtained the original engraved plates and added the graphic symbols for alchemical substances.
