in cooperation with the Szeged Branches of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences
and the Society for Modern Philology
organize the second

Interdisciplinary JOHN DEE Colloquium
in Szeged, Hungary, between July 16-18, 1998.

Papers are invited on John Dee, his works, his life and acquaintances, and his
reception in science- and cultural history as well as in literary works
as related to occult symbolism.

The event is the continuation of the first meeting organized by Stephen Clucas
at Birkbeck College, London, in April 1995.
The Colloquium immediately follows the international conference,
Iconography East & West 2: The Iconography of the Fantastic.
Applications are welcome for both meetings.
