Prometti is a prolific painter, sculptor and producer of illustrated books. He has had many exhibitions both in Italy and at international galleries. Prometti's first attempts on the Tarot date back to the late 1960s. During 1968-1969 he established his first version of major arcana to which he added in 1970 the element of color. In 1971-73 he worked on a second series of major arcana, first in black and white. During this period researching the Tarot became his main occupation. In 1978 he converted the images into photolithographic plates, in order to alter the colours. During the eighties he made several variations on the color photolithographs, using the second original series, with glazes of wax and then colored with minimal watercolour. The final version of the Major Arcana, made of color and collage, was created in 1993-94.
