The latest issue of Osiris, just out, features seventeen essays on the theme of "Chemical Knowledge in the Early Modern World" - with contributions on alchemy and eighteenth-century chemistry by an impressive list of scholars. Behind JSTOR paywall: http://www.jstor.org/stable/10.1086/678092 |

Hmm, so they are pushing Chymistry back to 1450? I don't quite agree with that, although making a full and rational argument about it would require several hours of study and work. The paywall may be negated for those who are members of university or National libraries, I'd better check mine. Some interesting papers there anyway. |

JStor's one month Jpass is quite reasonably priced, but unfortunately Osiris in not in the Jpass group of Journals. |
