Miguel Calle, a Peruvian from Lima now living in São Paulo in Brazil wrote to me recently to tell me of his alchemical artwork. He is creating classic alchemical emblems through pyrography on wood. This uses heated needles to scorch the surface of a panel of wood. I found this a wonderful way of reworking the emblematic material.
