An article about Florentine glassmaker Antonio Neri,

Maria Grazzini "Discorso sopra la Chimica: The Paracelsian Philosophy of Antonio Neri"

is published this month, in the journal Nuncius, (#27/2012) by the Museo Galileo in Florence.
This includes a full translation by Paul Engle of Neri's work 'Discorso' which explains his
philosophy about chemistry and the transmutation of metals.
Author Maria Grazzini has a long interest in Neri, beginning with the publication of her doctoral
thesis from the University of Florence in 1983. She has an extensive knowledge of the history
of philosophy, and her notations and observations make a very obscure subject quite lucid.
It is an opportunity to understand Neri in the wider context of his times, and not only as the
author of glass recipes.
