http://www.bonhams.com/auctions/20753/lot/256/ Provenance: Stanton Prentiss (1750-1826, born Massacusetts); bequeathed to his son Royal Prentiss, with his lengthy note: "Royal Prentiss, Mariatta, Ohio. I have had this book in my possession since the year 1826 at which time my father died. He charged me to study it & try to accomplish the work of which it treats, which I have faithfully obeyed - I have expended much money & time up to the present year 1845". I found this through a new(?) auction portal: http://www.barnebys.co.uk/ |
