In the last few months Massimo Marra has been putting a new project on-line in Italian, with a large selection of original materials for scholars in the field of alchemy and related subjects.

http://www.massimomarra.net

Until now more than one hundred pages have been put on-line, in successive updates.

The project is subdivided into different sections:

In the “XII-XVI secolo” section it is possible to find a collection of traditional texts in Italian issued between the XIIth and the XVIth century. Some texts are in the first Italian translation.

In the “XVII-XVIII secolo” one can find the traditional texts issued between these two centuries. The most of the translated materials is totally original, and several tracts are in first Italian translation.

In the “XIX-XX secolo” one can find materials from the occult contemporary tradition, at the moment especially gathered from the French “Renaissance occultiste fin de siècle” and from the Italian milieu of the same period.

In the “Archivio Storico” you can find source texts by historians and scholars between the end of the XIXth and the first decades of the XXth century, now copyright-free. In this section are collected some very important studies (or extracts) related to alchemy and the hermetic tradition, often produced by historians and scholars influenced by the positivistic cultural point of view (Berthelot, Carrington-Bolton etc.), which are the starting point for modern studies related to these subjects. These are very interesting materials for establishing a history of the relationship between the contemporary official culture and the field of study of alchemy and hermeticism.

There is also an “Iconografia” section, in which the iconographical material (sometimes with brief bio-bibliographical commentaries) is collected.

In the “Scritti on-line” there are some brief essays on the history of alchemy and west esotericism which Massimo Marra has published over the years, generally in reviews and journals which today are hard to find. Over the coming months he intends toprovide English translations for these materials.

Another section, currently not yet available on-line, will be devoted to bibliographic data and on-line resources for bibliographical studies (with special attention to the Italian material).

Further updates will be put on-line in the next few weeks.
