I have just bought a copy of Glass of the Alchemists: Lead Crystal–Gold Ruby, 1650–1750. which was published with an exhibition organised by the glassmakers Corning in 2008. This book celebrates the input that 16th and 17th century alchemy had into the development of lead crystal, gold ruby glass and other glass recipes.
