"The first Russian conference on the history and philosophy of alchemy was held on November, 29–30 [2102] in Vyazma (Smolensk region). It was organized by the Association for the Study of Esotericism and Mysticism and the Vyazma branch of the Moscow State University of Technologies and Management. Russian and Ukrainian specialists in the fields of history of science, philosophy, and literary criticism from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kiev, Donetsk, Omsk, Krivoy Rog, Smolensk and Vyazma participated in the conference. 11 papers were read, and additional discussions were held on the alchemical traditions of the West and East and the problems of interpretation of alchemical texts.
