Search 200,000 digitized images of photographs, illuminated manuscripts, maps, works of art, and books from the Beinecke's collections. There are several scans of alchemical Mss from the Mellon collection. http://beinecke.library.yale.edu/digitallibrary/ Last edited on Tue Nov 11th, 2008 02:24 pm by Johann Plattner |

Thanks for this link! Interesting 'alchemical music' material among other things... See: http://beinecke.library.yale.edu/dl_crosscollex/brbldl/oneITEM.asp?pid=2037172&iid=1131943&srchtype=ITEM "An early example of alchemical music, the Antiphona, by Johannes de Teschen, written in Hufnagelschrift." |

Regarding Johannes de Teschen/Johannes Tecenensis/Johann von Teschen: 1. He is listed in Adam's database under Johannes Tecenensis. 2. MS Ashburnham 1166 (c. 1475) contains his 'Miscellanea alchemica'. 3. The Newberry Consort include some of his music in their programs: See: http://www.houstonearlymusic.org/hemarchive/archive/1997/newber1.htm |

Flickr also has a libraries section: http://www.flickr.com/groups/librariesandlibrarians/pool/ Search box is at the top-right of that page. More photos of the Strahov (and many other libraries) will be found there. See, for example, the fascinating Reading Wheel (below) - very useful. Attached Image (viewed 1175 times): |
