"Dear Colleagues, This is an important moment in the history of the humanities: the first general journal on the history of the humanities has just been launched by the University of Chicago Press!

For the Call for Submissions see: http://press.uchicago.edu/pressReleases/2014/October/1410HOH.html

We greatly welcome contributions to “History of Humanities” (HoH). If you want your paper to be considered for the first volume (2 issues), please submit your paper no later than May 1, 2015 to historyofhumanities@uva.nl. It would be helpful in this case if you send us a statement of interest as soon as possible. Each issue of the journal will contain around 150 pages, consisting of both full research papers and a "Forum Section", as well as book reviews. Full research papers can contain up to 10.000 words (including notes and references); the "Forum Section" consists of 4-5 papers of a total of maximally 25.000 words. A Forum section can comprise, for instance, 4 papers by different authors on a coherent theme of current interest in the history of the humanities, or one opinion paper followed by 4 short commentaries. Proposals for Focus sections should equally be sent to historyofhumanities@uva.nl. We’d like to encourage you to spread this Call for Submissions among your network (see also the attachment). Best wishes from the HoH editorial team, Rens Bod, Julia Kursell, Jaap Maat and Thijs Weststeijn."
