The issue of Histoire littéraire de la France 41 (1981) with the much quoted article on the alchemical works of John of Rupescissa by Robert Halleux is available from archive.org: http://www.archive.org/details/histoirelittra41riveuoft There is also an article on a less known (to me at least!) English mathematician and alchemist active in France in mid-14th c. -- Philippe Elephant. |

Elephant's alchemical work is contained in Cambrai, Bibl. mun., 919, f. 66-75. |
