Hello everyone. I am helping a friend out with some research, and I am looking at the big fancy pictures in Libavius' Alchymia. Which are quite well known and can be found all over the place. Can I find a copy of the book itself in order to read the proper source text, well, that's another matter. In English or Latin, has anyone any knowledge of such a thing? I've looked on EEBO, RAMS and searched the internet, no luck. |

Thanks a lot Paul. I should have thought of looking in France, as it were. |

Alexander, I hope you enjoy your time in Libavius's book. You can find free page images from an early Latin edition at the Google Books website. I you have access to it, ProQuest's Early European Books has high-resolution colour images of the 1606 copy in the Wellcome Collection. Tom |
