I thought you might be interested to know of the publication of Early Greek Alchemy, Patronage and Innovation in Late Antiquity. It deals with the socio-historical context of Zosimus of Panopolis and argues that patronage played a role in preserving Greek alchemical commentaries and popularizing its practice among early Christians. The last two chapters also contain interpretations of some treatises attributed to Zosimus.

It was published in open access by California Classical Studies.
It is readable online for now and free PDF download will start in April 2021.

Best wishes,
