Lullist manuscript - Adam McLean - 11-21-2022 Manuscript on alchemical processes, by Raymundus Lullius. A rather amusing, to our age, coloured drawing on page 44, depicting a large pot in which a crowned head can be seen at the surface and a conical-shaped pot with bleeding limbs and a furnace above. The manuscript Wellcome L0072782, contains several full-page drawings of alchemical furnaces and apparatus etc, in addition to numerous smaller drawings of similar objects, some coloured, in the margins. The manuscript consists of various alchemical processes and receipts, written in French and Latin, by different hands. |
