Indian Alchemy Or Rasayana
#1
Rasāyana (रसायन) is a Sanskrit word literally meaning path (ayana) of essence (rasa). It is an early ayurvedic medical term referring to techniques for lengthening lifespans and invigorating the body. It is one of the eight areas of medicine in Sanskrit literature. In the Vedic alchemical context, "rasa" also translates to "metal or a mineral".

Interesting book by S. Mahdihassan.

Apparently rights-free, and in English not Sanskrit as stated:

Mahdihassan wrote a number of interesting articles on the historical aspects of alchemy.
I am not sure about the copyright status of these. If they were free of copyright, I would be happy to scan them and place them on the alchemy website.

Some of his papers seem to be open source, like the attached. Worth Googling around.

I have most of his articles as photocopies from the journals in which they appeared. Alan Pritchard was kind enough to provide me with a number of these.
