"Alexander Herrmann, often known as Hermann the Great, was a 19th-century French magician who was known for his magic shows exhibiting bullet catches and white rabbit pulls. He also wrote an interesting treatise on the practices of magical dark arts. This book entitled simply “Black Art”, describes witchcraft and alchemy, necromancy, mesmerism, spirit summoning, spiritualism, and even sleep-walking and dream interpretation."
