"I have decided to supply a translation of select passages from Cecco D’Ascoli e Frate Elia: Sonetti Alchemici, published by Libreria Editrice ASEQ. I have translated all of the footnotes given for the poems themselves, but not the footnotes for the rest of the work. Fair warning: the translation is rather crude, and I have decided not to attempt a poetic rendering of the sonnets, but a clear and faithful rendition. The purpose of this undertaking is that I will ultimately be referencing some of the content here in a future article series."
