"[Newton] started pursuing alchemical research from about 1670 and began writing on apocalyptical exegesis from 1672 shortly after his annus mirabilis of 1667 in which he “invented his “fluxions” (the calculus), discovered white light to be compounded of all the distinctly colored rays of the spectrum, and found a mathematical law of gravity, at least in a tentative form.”
