1. Frontispiece engraving. 203x126mm. Two pillars labelled "J" and "B", at the top of which are the Sun and Moon, support the 'superior' world of the heavens. Influences from the Sun, Moon and the other planets ray down and are focussed onto a compass supported upon seven small pillars associated with the seven planets in the 'inferior' world. "fr. 2. Woodcut on title page. 72x90mm. At the foot of a mountain a man, with a sword and shield bearing compasses and square), has just vanquished a dragon. On the left is a sphynx. At the centre of the mountain a fountain pours out two streams of liquid. On the summit is a winged cherub leaning upon books and holding a monogrammed shield.
3. p19. Engraving. 66x71mm. The hand of God emerging from a cloud above a small mountain holds up a mirror around which two serpents entwine. The mirror catches the rays of the sun setting (or rising) over an ocean. "f: Hejonagogerus Sculp:"
4. p112. Engraving. 61x73mm. Framed by two trees, a mountain surrounded by sea is crowned with fire like a volcano. Over its summit is a large cloud from which rain descends.
5. p386. Engraving. 60x71mm. Framed by two trees, three men each holding a book are struck by lightning bolts, descending from a cross in a nimbus of light seen in clouds.]
