Frontispiece engraving. 159x124mm. A large woman 'Zoilus aegrotans' lies on the ground. From her pregnant stomach a tree grows and one branch leads to the left, bearing the image of Democritus, and another to the right, bearing Heraclitus. Smoke rises from the feet, hands and mouth of this giant woman, and two men attend her, one pouring 'Aurum potabile' into her mouth, and the other blowing air from a bellows, labelled 'zibetha occident', towards her stomach. Above Democritus is a female figure, labelled 'Ratio' holding a torch and a set of scales. Above Heraclitus is the figure of 'Experientia' working at an alchemical furnace. Between the two is 'Adrastea' holding a torch on the left and a axe to the right. "Pet. Rollos fecit."]
