Art Medium:
Pen (primarily using red and black inks) and watercolour.
Description:
The ideas for this deck were devised by Sungkom Horharin who was apparently the first Tarot card reader in Thailand. He drew on the art and architecture of his native land, especially from the palaces in Sukhothai, Ayuddhaya, and the Grand Palace in Bangkok. Apparently it took five years to research the Thai art, culture, literature, and Buddhist ideas for this deck. He instructed two local artists, Wasan Kriengkomal and Verasak Sodsri to create the imagery. This is probably the first deck to emerge from Thailand.
