Description:
Italian Futurism was an early 20th century art style expressing contemporary concepts of the future, including transport, speed, technology, and the industrial city. It also inspired a group of artists in Russia. In a sense it arose as a reaction against romanticism in art, as found, say, in the Impressionists. The artist Filippo Tommaso Marinetti published a Manifesto of Futurism in 1909. In 2009 Osvaldo Menegazzi created the '22 Arcani Futuristi' in 2009 to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of this Futurist Movement.
