Composed in the Campo De La Porpora, Venice, in March 2019, the duo is inspired by the text "The Meditative Philosophy" of the Flemish alchemist Gerhard Dorn (Gerhardus Dorneus). The first movement, "Distractio", represents the initial phase in the practice of meditation suggested by the philosopher, which consists of the separation of the Spirit from the Body. The second movement, "Unius Viri Nativitas", represents the final phase, in which the Unity between Psychic Reality and Physical Reality is experienced as a process of rediscovery.
