That looks nice, and it isn't too expensive. I'm just not sure I need a paper copy since I have the digitial one.
By the way, do you know of any good explanation of the books sources? Obviously NOrton's Ordinal and some of the other works are well known and studied, but there's a lot more texts in there which, even being post-medieval, surely merit study or at least explication of their origin.

I must admit I don't - it would certainly be a worthwhile investigation.

I got CHurton's book, am halfway through. It is interesting enough, but readers might be irritated by the authors interjections. What is also irritating is the frequent quotes from Josten, who studied Ashmole in detail, and the fact the author is a modern new age type and so his understanding of alchemy and such from the period is seen through that lense. So at most 4 out of 5 stars, so far.

Alexander, are you referring to Churton's book on Ashmole? Or has he written prefatory or explanatory material for the Ouroboros edition? That edition seems to have an additional 20+ pages of new content, but it's three times as expensive as the Kessinger paperback.
In answer to Paul's previous question about the sources of Ashmole's edition, it's worth noting that Robert Schuler's edition of "Alchemical Poetry 1575-1700," published in the English Renaissance Hermeticism series in 1995, has recently been reprinted in paperback by Routledge:

Churton's book on Ashmole. It's not bad, but I'm not finding it as great as I might like it to be.
