The manuscript mentioned in the Telegraph article would appear to be
the early copy of the 'Crowning of Nature'.
While some of these manuscripts are from Rainsford's collection,
the alchemical core is likely to be the remains of the library of Henry Percy,
the "Wizard Earl" who for some years was imprisoned by
King James the First in the Tower of London, where along with
Thomas Harriot and Raleigh, Percy was able to set up an alchemical laboratory and
continue his metaphysical studies. There is a thread on this forum with some discussion.
