An interesting frontispiece of a latish (1751) edition of Flamel’s Chymische Werke.

Note the presence of a ‘monad’ (the hieroglyphic connection, I guess).
But below are allegories of Envy, Wrath and Hatred, breaking their arrows on the pavise of a Christ-like figure.
a) Can someone read all the text in the halo : “[...] Adjutor [...] Hic Habeo” ?
b) And what does this symbol and the "I. P. K." on the shield possibly mean ?

A correspondent of mine has asked me to post this:-
The frontispiece is taken from "Johann Schütze - Ein altes, sehr schönes und herrliches Tractätlein von dem Gebenedeyeten Stein"
Only there is a small difference, in Johann Schützes work the symbols on the shield read I.A.H. and beneath the woodcut we find: Impensis Johan: Adolph: Hærtel: Anno 1682.Attached Image (viewed 1133 times):

Hi Carl,
a) The legend seems to read 'Jesum Adjutorem Hic Habeo', 'Here I have Jesus as my helper'.
b) I think IPK probably means 'Impensis Petri Kopffij' = 'At the expense of Petrus Kopffius', the Frankfurt alchemical publisher who was active around 1600. Presumably this was a republication of a much earlier edition. Thank you Paul. About the possible printer's device, I'll look up for Hærtel's (as Knopffius' mark are variations on the Rape of Ganymede, lifted almost straight from Alciat).

Might be worth looking up the engraver's mark also. It looks as if it says 'J. Wachman fecit'.
