The Institute has obtained a grant from the Kress Foundation to provide funds for a four month post to digitise the non-manuscript astrology section of the Warburg Institute Photographic Collection. The digital images will be created by the Institute's Photographer; the Academic Assistant will be required to add the metadata to be incorporated in the Institute's Iconographic Database.
We are seeking a suitably qualified individual to select and prepare digitised images from the Astrology section of the Photographic Collection (some 3,000 images in total) for publication in the on-line Warburg Institute Iconographic Database. The post-holder will be expected to provide complex, subject specific metadata for these images obtained from catalogue data contained in the collection and in notes and annotations (in a number of languages) on hard copy material which will include artist, date, location and other image specific data.
