I remember I had some years ago posted on my website, a translation of the section in Denis Zacaire's Opuscule tres-eccellent de la vraye Philosophie naturelle des metaulx first published in 1567, where there is an autobiographical account of his alchemical quest, which seems modelled on Bernard of Treviso's.
