A tract intitled, 'The readyngs and reasons of Rycard de Nemore, [Wood?], Esquyer, student and dylygent sercher owt of God's worde, and the Cyvyll and Canon Lawes, and by the lawes of this realme, and by naturall and chymicall phylosophye, and by mathematicall and supernaturall precepts, of the trewe meanynge of the Statute made anno 5 Henrici Quarti, ageynst the practysers of the Arte of Multyplyenge Golde and Sylver, and that it can not be intended ageynst the holy Arte of Chymia'; with an 'Epistle to the reader' prefixed. ff.2-48.
In the eighth chapter the author endeavours to show 'that the awntyent poets in ther fables and dark tales, and some hystorygraphers have hydden this arte of chymia.'
