[The name 'Franciscus Steuart' appears on folios i and ii. An inscription on the inside front cover relates to a journal of the 32nd year of reign of Queen Elizabeth i.e. 1590. 'Jurnale de anno Regne Regine VVVII [ave] Elizabeth'.]
