Morinaga Hi-Crown Original Tarot I
1995 (?)
Riyoko Ikeda
Japan
Art Medium:
Pen drawings coloured with watercolour.
Description:
In the 1990s the Morinaga Hi-Crown Chocolate company included a gift token with its chocolate products. If a customer sent back sufficient tokens, they would receive a tarot deck in a stitched faux leather pouch with a velcro closer. The company commissioned two decks, apparently, one for their plain and one for their milk chocolate. Riyoko Ikeda created one of them setting his images in ornate classical picture frames.
