Description:
In the 1990s the Morinaga Hi-Crown Chocolate company included a gift token with its chocolate products. If a customer sent back sufficient tokens, they would receive a tarot deck in a stitched faux leather pouch with a velcro closer. The company commissioned two decks, apparently, one for their plain and one for their milk chocolate. This one by Susumu Matsushita is in a modern, in-your-face, cartoon style. Matsushita had originally created some of these images for an anthology of writings on the Tarot, edited by Masao Ono in 1978, but reworked them for the Morinaga version.
